Dear reader,
we welcome you to the second InnoHPC newsletter. In this issue you will be able to read about our past activities – we put much effort in finalisation of Digital Transformation of Industry Guidelines. In order to achieve proper results many interactive workshops were conducted across the Danube Region. More on the workshops is available below.
InnoHPC team was present at 6th Annual EUSDR forum contributing to the debate on the development of Innovative ecosystems for SMEs (Thematic pole 1), the consortium met for the second time within the frame of 2nd Steering Committee meeting and mouch effort was done to promote the InnoHPC in Moldova.

Forthcoming AUSTRiAN HPC MEETING 2018 and 1st InnoHPC regional workshop
|
|
The Austrian HPC Meeting 2018 (AHPC18), sponsored by the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), will be held from February 19-21th, 2018, at Courtyard Marriott in Linz (Upper Austria, Austria). AHCP18 will start with the Opening Celebration of the MACH-2 Supercomputer at JKU where all participants are welcome. On February 22, 2018, two workshops, the Bioinformatics Workshop and the InnoHPC Workshop, will be held in parallel.

PARTICIPATING AT 6TH ANNUAL EUSDR FORUM FROM 18TH TO 19TH OCTOBER 2017 IN BUDAPEST, HU

|
From 18th to 19th of October the FIŠ team (prof. dr. Borut Rončević, dr. Tamara B. Valič, Erika D. Uršič, and Victor Cepoi) actively participated at 6th annual EUSDR forum.
On 18th of October the InnoHPC team participated at the plenary session and workshop on Increase the involvement of the non-EU countries of the EUSDR.
Representatives of InnoHPC partners were also present: Mrs. Doinita Ulinici from Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (Moldova – ASP partner) and prof. dr. Nikolai Genov and dr. Yantsislav Yanakiev from Research Centre Regional and Global Development from Bulgaria.

On the second day of 6th annual EUSDR forum, the FIŠ team actively participated at DTP capitalization Workshop of Thematic pole 1 Innovative ecosystem for SMEs.
The workshop was led by Thematic pole 1 leader Mrs. Daniela Chiran from Steinbeis Innovation GMBH, Steinbeis-Europe- Center, (Project manager of Made in Danube project).

2ND STEERING COMITTEE MEETING IN BUDAPEST, HU
|
|
|
|
Following the events of 6th annual EUSDR forum, InnoHPC held its 2nd Steering Committee meeting. Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry were hosting the meeting at its premises.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the upcoming 1st year review, and the reporting demands connected with the review.

INNOHPC VISIT IN MOLDOVA

From 25th to 27th of September the FIŠ team (prof. dr. Borut Rončević, and Victor Cepoi) participated at several meetings in Republic of Moldova with InnoHPC partner (AITT) and other stakeholders from the region.
During 25th of September the FIS team met the director of the Agency for Innovations and Technology Transfer – Roman Chirca. The discussions focused on the Industry Guidelines for Moldova and next steps which have to be taken in the upcoming WP activities. Additionally, a special emphasize was on the importance of the upcoming meetings both in Chisinau and Balti.

Following the meeting at AITT, both the FIS and AITT teams visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Moldova and had a meeting with the vice-president - Mihai Bilba. Durign the meeting CCI presented their activity, as did FIS, with a special focus on the InnoHPC project. It was highlighted the importance of CCI’s involvement in attracting Tier 1 and 2 automotive and electronic companies from Moldova in future activities of the InnoHPC project.
The final meeting was with the representative of the Innovation Incubator IT4BA - director and associate professor Dr. Sergiu Tutunaru. FIS and AITT presented the InnoHPC project, meanwhile IT4BA mentioned ways it could help with the promotion, but also participate.
During the 26th September, FIS and AITT teams had a field trip, to the second largest city in Moldova – Balti. There were organized consultations with several stakeholders from the North region. Firstly, FIS and AIIT met with the interim director Mr. Constantin Bandiu and Ms. Inga Cojocaru from the Regional Development Agency North. The discussions were dedicated toward promotion of the InnoHPC project and discussion possible ways the Agency could be involved in the upcoming activities. A special emphasize was of the digital transformation in the industry.
The second meeting, was at the Alecu Russo Balti State University, with the vice-rector for research prof. Igor Cojocaru. During the meeting, FIS and AITT pointed the importance of the InnoHPC project for peripheral areas.
