PROJECT CHESTNUT IS DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY PLANS: HOW CAN THEY HELP IMPROVE LIVING ENVIRONMENT IN THE DANUBE REGION AND HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

 
 

A Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is a strategic plan designed to satisfy the mobility needs of people and businesses in cities and their surroundings for a better quality of life. SUMPs aims to create an urban transport system by improving safety and security, reducing air and noise pollution and enhacing the attractiviness and quality of the urban environment and urban design for the benefits of citizens, the economy and society as a whole. Project CHESTNUT aims to contribute to reducing car use in paradigmatic Functional Urban Areas of the Danube Region by promoting inter-modality and the use of more sustainable means of transportation. WORKSHOP: RESULTS OF THE CURRENT CHESTNUT ACTIVITIES PRESENTED TO STAKEHOLDERS IN ZADAR, CROATIA

 
 

The workshop presented the results of the current documents and analysis done in CHESTNUT, which included initial status analysis, vision design, goal setting (final and measurable), choice of measures through active communication and monitoring and evaluation of process and perfomance. On January 30, 2018, the workshop "Sustainable Urban Mobility of the City of Zadar" was organized by the Agency for Development of the Zadar County ZADAR NOVE and the City of Zadar in Reactors Palace's Multimedia Hall.

wORKSHOP: MOBILITY SCENARIOS AND OVERARCHING GOALS OF THE SUMP DISCUSSED IN WEIZ, AUSTRIA

 
 

At the LSG workshop in Weiz, which was held on January 17, 2018, there was a lot of talk about sustainable traffic planning and the added value of the city from the project CHESTNUT in the City of Weiz. The CHESTNUT project partners invited their traffic advisory board to the joint workshop. The presentations were held by Mrs. Barbara Kulmer and the traffic expert DI Hans Rauer.

SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY IN SLOVENIA: PROMOTING SUMP IN COASTAL-KARST REGION

 
 

Regional development center Koper held a professional consultation on promoting SUMP in the region, since they want to strenghten cooperation among stakeholders in the thematic area. This is also one of the key priorities of the Regional Development Program for the period 2014-2020. This enables RDC Koper to contribute to the implementation of the accepted Municipal Integrated Transport Strategies and to achieve synergies through an inter-municipal coordinated approach.

tHIRD JOINT LEARNING ACTION IN DIMITROVGRAD, BULGARIA: CHESTNUT PARTNERS ONE STEP CLOSER TO SUMPS

 
 

Municipality of Dimitrovgrad hosted CHESTNUT 3rd Joint Learning Action Meeting. Partners from 13 organisations gathered in Bulgaria to present results of implemented activities, exchange information and collect feedback. Day 1 was reserved for discussion about communication activities and steering committee meeting and the next day CHESTNUT was presented to local and regional media. Also, day 2 gave an overview of project management issues.

CHESTNUT PARTNERS GATHERED IN PRAGUE: HEATING UP WITH EXAMPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE

 
 

The CHESTNUT project partners held a meeting at Townhall City Hall at The Municipal District Prague 9. They discussed on what has been done so far and what has been achieved, as well about the next tasks in all work packages. After the opening speech and official greeting, the meeting continued with a brief summary of the financial situation. Then the agenda of the meeting passed beyond the expected certificates from partners.
