PROTECTED AREAS FOR BETTER MANAGEMENT OF THE "AMAZON OF EUROPE"
Through the coop MDD project, we are working towards harmonization of Protected Areas management and development of a joint Management Programme for the future 5-country UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Mura-Drava-Danube" (TBR MDD). This will guide our coordinated protection, restoration and education actions for many years to come, ensuring conservation of one of the most important European river corridors.

STUDY VISITS FOR A BETTER LOCAL ACTION PLAN

An interdisciplinary expert team from Slovenia went on two study visits to gain knowledge and share experiences. The first excursion took place in April where the team visited the Donauauen National Park and the nature reserve at Marchegg. In the following month, an expert team went to Carinthia to restoration sites on the Upper Drava River. The result of both excursions is support for a better local action plan which will be implemented on the Mura river.
