workshop with stakeholders IN bIJAMBARE PROTECTED LANDSCAPE
More than 30 stakeholders from the local government, business, academia, local population and general public attended the workshop.
Mrs. Zijada Krvavac, expert advisor of the Minister for Physical Planning, Construction and Environment Protection in Canton Sarajevo, highlighted the significance of recognizing the best practices in EU that need and should be implemented in nature protected areas in BiH.
"During the activity development in nature protected areas, a participation of stakeholders from different sectors is extremely important. Workshop on Tara showed how local inhabitants, private companies, NGOs, universities and National park administration can cooperate. This way, developed ideas are harmonized with the goals of nature protection as well as with the needs of local population." - Mr. Matjaž Harmel, Zavita.
WORKSHOP WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN NOTRANJSKA REGIONAL PARK
One of the main objectives of the worskhop were to present the most relevant ecosystem services existing in Notranjska as well as to identify promising business development opportunities from the region.

It was very encouraging for me to see, that the stakeholders in Apuseni region have made a first realistic assessment of the opportunities and discussed and shared visions for a sustainable development of those valuable protected karst areas in Romania. The active and harmonic participation of different interest groups was an excellent start in order to jointly identify ways towards proper balance between the protection of ecosystems and their sustainable use and economic development."-Mr. Udo Gattenloehner, Global Nature Fund
The workshop was opened by Mr. Gyorgy Dudas, a deputy manager of Bukk National park, who greeted all participants. He emphasized the significance of biodiversity and natural values of Bukk National park.

Over 40 participants gathered in Grahovo to work on the preparatory steps for the Action Plan development. The training was a great chance for all participants to strengthen their skills on cross-sectoral stakeholder communication in nature protected areas. More detailed identification of potentials for pro-biodiversity businesses was also performed with the support of Global Nature Fund.
