YOUR ROAD SAFETY IS ON OUR RADAR!
With the end of the summer comes fall, and with fall comes back-to-school season. As most of the Danube region countries just started its first week of going back-to-school, we must all remember that education is not only for the children, it is for all of us. As Aristotle reminds us: "The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet."
With RADAR project (Risk Assessment on Danube Area Roads) being active just a few months, we have set our goal towards the improvement of the road infrastructure in the Danube region by raising capacity and enhancing transnational cooperation in the sector, for all road users. Though the goal is set for the three-year time, we realize that identifying the obstacles, reducing risks, developing a strategy and raising awareness on road infrastructure will be no cakewalk, we are extremely excited and passionate about the outcome of the RADAR's activities.

John Dawson, Board Director of EuroRAP and EIRA, talked about the importance of supporting the improvement of road safety infrastructure, especially in Danube region: “We would not accept half a million people being killed in any other form of the public disease. Let’s attack road casualty reduction as though it mattered and be proportionate about it and understand that it has a vast economic cost too – up to 5 % of GDP in some of the RADAR region countries.”
