Partner NGO attending EUSDR PA 10 Conference in Chisinau

On 26th – 27th October 2017, The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of Moldova, the Coordination of Priority Area "Institutional Capacity and Cooperation" and the Foster Europe - Foundation for strong European Regions organised the "Danube Financing and Capacity Building Dialogue" in Chisinau (MD). The aim was to bring together local and regional key stakeholders, public and private financing institutions and NGOs, involved in the development of capacity building on all levels of the Republic of Moldova as part of the Danube Region in the framework of the EUSDR.

One of the stakeholders present at the event was the Regional Centre for Ecological Studies (RCES), an organization focused on promoting the sustainable development of the Danube region through environmental studies, environmental monitoring and implementation of socio-economic development projects.

Association of Cross Border Cooperation “Lower Danube” ACTEDJ, one of GREEN DANUBE project partners, met with representatives of RCES and shared their experience in the field of implementing Danube Transnational Programme.

The Regional Centre for Ecological Studies is an important output of the “Inventory, Assessment and Remediation of Anthropogenic Sources of Pollution in the Lower Danube Region of Ukraine, Romania and the Republic of Moldova” JOP Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013, under the Large-Scale Projects, MIS ETC 995 with ACTEDJ acting as Project Partner. This synergy project output was considered an example by GREEN DANUBE Project while preparing the concept for Environmental Information Centres to be developed.

The cooperation between NGOs in the Danube region will positively impact the share of information and promotion of best practices in environmental protection of the Danube, ACTEDJ ensuring that the stakeholders from territories beyond project area will also benefit from project results.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
