14-12-2017

On 12 December 2017, the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm organized the second regional workshop in Ulm about the project Transdanube.Pearls and its project activities.

Around 25 stakeholders from the mobility and tourism sector attended the second workshop, among them representatives of the municipalities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm, NGOs working in the field of nature protection, cycling, tourism associations as well as local and regional transport providers.

The first part of the workshop summarized the main project goals and activities. One of those activities as foreseen by the project was the establishment of a mobility manager for the project Transdanube.Pearls in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. In this context, the new mobility manager, Alexandra Bohner introduced herself, presented her work of the last weeks and the subjects and measures she will be work on during project lifetime.

In the second part of the workshop, the stakeholder started elaborating the Sustainable Regional Tourism and Mobility Plan (SRTMP) for the region Ulm and Neu-Ulm. This plan involves both topics, mobility and tourism and covers the entire region. Together with the mobility expert of the Assessment Tour, Andreas Friedwagner, who will elaborate the SRTMP for Ulm and Neu-Ulm as external expert, the goals, mobility and tourism services as well as further measures in these sectors have been discussed. The stakeholders have actively participated in this process and expressed their support for such a plan and the need to achieve significant results before the end of the project. Among these actions, measures targeted at information and marketing of mobility and tourist information have achieved most attention. The participants supported the exchange platform and welcomed the variety of involved actors from both, the mobility and tourism sector but also from different levels including cities, counties and regions

The results from the workshop serve as basis for the first draft of the SRTMP in Ulm and Neu-Ulm that will be most likely presented and further elaborated in the next workshop in march 2018.
