ECO KARST - UPCOMING EVENT: The Third Steering Committee Meeting and the First Year Review meeting

The Third Steering Committee meeting will be organized next week (February 19 – February 22, 2018) in the National park Bukk, Hungary. The event will gather all project partners from 9 different countries, who will do the first project review and discuss the progress on the work packages and the plans for the future.

The ECO KARST team will start their working week in Hungary with a review of the Performance and Quality Plan in ordered to assess the performance of the project so far and take corrective measures where and when necessary..

The First Year Review is scheduled for Tuesday. Mr. Gusztáv Csomor, a Project Officer from the Danube Transnational Programme, will join the ECO KARST team for the First Year Review meeting. The leading partner will present the project progress, experienced challenges and delays. All work package leaders will have a chance to briefly present their current activities and share useful information.

The presentation will be followed by 2 workshops regarding the project implementation, partnership and communication.Tuesday will be also reserved for pilot areas to share their progress on the data gathering regarding the ecosystem services, ecosystem types and stakeholders.

On Wednesday, the presentations on the progress of each work package in the project are planned. All participants will have a chance to hear more about the results achieved in the pilot areas, Training B module, plan for the participatory mapping and assessment of ecosystem services, improvement on the project micro-website, assessment of the existing pro-biodiversity businesses, as well as about the progress on the establishment of seven local networks and one transnational of karst parks.

A short presentation of the National park Bukk and its features will sum up the third day of event and prepare all project partners for the field trip planned for Thursday. During the field trip, it’s planned to follow this route: Cserépfalu village (wooden pasture and a beehive rock), St. Stephen Cave and Repashuta protected village.

The ECO KARST team is looking forward to the working week in Hungary in the beautiful surroundings of the National park Bukk.
