GREEN DANUBE - at international scientific symposium

18-05-2018

Danube Delta National Institute is currently organizing the 26th International Symposium "Deltas  and  Wetlands" 2018 which is held in Tulcea, Romania.

GREEN DANUBE project was presented in Section II: Environmental factors, Ecological Restoration and Anthropic Impact to an audience of international researchers and local authorities. The focus was on assessment of air quality status performed in the four selected areas along the Danube river, where sampling time was 24 hours continuously in seven different locations. The measurements were performed during low and high traffic of inland vessels based on a methodology developed in GREEN DANUBE project. After analysing the data, the researchers in charge of the first field campaign concluded that particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) was always below the limit at all sampling sites.

Our team was rewarded second place for their contribution to Section II of the symposium - Environmental factors, Ecological Restoration and Anthropic Impact.
