DA-SPACE - PROJECT PARTNERS FROM SERBIA, UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD AND VOJVODINA ICT CLUSTER, BUILDING THE FRAMEWORK FOR 2nd EDITION OF THE OIL

04-09-2018

VOICT OI LAB – Serbia is one of 7 open innovation labs established in the region within the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme project DA-SPACE (Open Innovation to Raise Entrepreneurship Skills and Public Private Partnership).

After completing the first round of the Open Innovation labs (OIL) of DA-SPACE project and after participating in the first International Demo Day in Pula, the time has come to start planning the second phase.

Serbian partners, Vojvodina ICT Cluster (VOICT) and University of Novi Sad (UNS) organized a joint meeting where the results of the first edition of the labs and of the entrepreneurship training have been carefully analyzed and the framework and the next steps for the second edition of OIL have been established.

It has been recognized that all team members have learned a lot from the experience and their involvement in the first phase, and that even though the basic approach and understanding of project goals remains unchanged, some other moments need to be changed while preparing for the second round of OIL.

The second edition of the OI Lab and of the entrepreneurship training will be organized within the premises of Business Incubator of Novi Sad (BINS) where VOICT OIL – Serbia is situated, and some technical details have been discussed with BINS representative who has been invited to participat in the meeting.

The strongest industry sectors in Vojvodina are ICT and agrifood (with creative industries emerging rapidly), and VOICT as an organization gathering top-notch Serbian IT and software development companies relies on strong partnership with UNS to matchmake young talents (mostly UNS students) and seekers (mostly innovative SMEs, VOICT members) and that should be the starting and also the key point for the second edition of OI Lab.

At the end, both UNS and VOICT teams had the opportunity to say goodbye to one of UNS team members who left his position at UNS and starting from September had to leave DA-SPACE project team as well.

The final conclusion confirmed that DA-SPACE project did help in building strong collaboration between business organizations and academia and such collaboration exists and serves as a starting point in innovation development of VOICT OIL - Serbia.

University of Novi Sad is a higher education institution, and the Vojvodina ICT Cluster is one of the most successful Serbian clusters. Both are partners in DA-SPACE project. DA-SPACE Open Innovation Lab Novi Sad is established in Business Incubator Novi Sad.
