NETWORLD - Exhibition “Maritime Education & the World War I”

Varna Economic Development Agency (VEDA) - the Bulgarian NETWORLD project partner, presented exhibition “Maritime Education & the World War I“ to the participants in the Scientific Conference with international participation “Bulgaria-Germany. World War I. Lessons for the future”, held on 26.09.2018 at the Naval Academy in Varna. The thirty exhibition panels, the five oil portraits (painted by the artist Vasil Chakarov) and the Model of the Building of the Mechanical School & the Navy Headquarters at the World War I (in a scale 1: 100,  author arch. Stoyan Stamov) – presented to the conference guests,  were produced by VEDA within the Work  package 6 of the NETWORLD project. The participants in the event received paper copies of the NETWORLD project multinational brochure, printed by RIM Dobrich.  

The organizer of the conference was the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria with the support of the Naval Academy “N.Y.Vaptsarov”.  The event was opened by the Fleet Admiral Prof. Dr. Boyan Mednikarov - Principal of the Academy. Academician Georgi Markov from the Institute of Historical Sciences at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - Sofia presented to the guests in the plenary panel an interesting overview of the World War I, followed by three thematic sessions with relevance to the War. A short tour around the building was organized by the host Admiral Mednikarov for the conference's guests to give them an insight on Academy’s facilities.
