MSV 2018 was marked by significant anniversaries. Not only was it the 60th edition of the most important industrial fair in Central and Eastern Europe, but also it has been 90 years since the Brno Exhibition Centre was founded and 100 years since the establishment of Czechoslovakia.

The Brno University of Technology (BUT) could not be absent. 19 exhibits that were created by students and researchers from the university were displayed at the BUT stand. The best exhibits competed for the prestigious MSV Gold Medal. The Hybrid Pumping System, which was designed by specialists from the BUT, was awarded Gold Medal in the category of component innovation in mechanical engineering.

70% of fair visitors were composed of representatives and managers of important enterprises in Central and Eastern European region. It provided for an excellent place for the universities and research centers to meet with other businesses. Concurrently, the BUT proudly presented the EcoInn Danube project within this event. Visitors were introduced to the project mission and became acquainted with a Virtual Lab platform. The Virtual Lab is a smart tool for improving the match of producers' demand and researchers' supply in order to support an applied environmentally oriented research which will lead to the development of new eco-technologies with application in practice.
