18-01-2019

Tourism leaflet THE WALK OF PEACE FROM THE ALPS TO THE ADRIATIC represents heritage of WWI in a beautiful nature on the walk from Julian Alps to the Adriatic see. It was created by the Walk of Peace in the Soča Region Foundation through the funds of the project NETWORLD, Interreg Danube Transnational Program.

The Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic is the main tourist product of The Walk of Peace Foundation, which is responsible for maintaining the heritage of the First World War and its presentation to the world with desire to expand peace as an outstanding universal value, cooperate and develop cultural tourism.

The Walk of Peace trail invites hikers, families, schools, daily visitors, soldier’s descendant, and cyclists to slow down the pace of life and feel peace. Invites visitors to relax or think. The places that were marked by war a century ago are now messengers of peace, left with the legacy of the preserved memorials, trenches, war cemeteries, charnel houses, caverns, caves and other shadows of the war. By the river Soča, among the high mountains, narrow gorges, karst caves and spacious vineyards, they are ideal terrains for active holidays, which become even more exciting with the discovering history.
