GREEN DANUBE Partners have established a list of criteria for the selection of some critical environmental areas along the DANUBE RIVER 

The purpose of this activity is to set up assessment criteria for the selection of critical environmental areas on the Danube River, where measurements of air pollutant emissions will take place. Consequently the causes will be established and actions to be taken will be proposed.

The critical environmental areas will be selected on a few criteria based, mainly, on the importance of the Danube area for preservation of biodiversity and landscapes, improvement of environmental conditions in the rural and urban areas located along the Danube, the intensity of inland traffic and common border areas.

Applying the developed set of criteria, 4 (four) critical environmental areas located along the Danube river will be selected.

When the partners reach their final conclusion all interested parties will be informed.
