Students from primary school “Dobrosav Radosavljević Narod” from Mačvanska Mitrovica in Serbia participated at workshops on invasive alien species that were organized in Special Nature Reserve Zasavica within the frame of the Sava TIES project.

The first was organized on April 22 2019, on the occasion of celebrating International Earth Day, when students had opportunity to learn about the problems related to the invasive aliens species and the damage they bring on nature and the human being.

During the second workshop, organized on June 1, 2019, on the occasion of celebrating the International Sava Day, the students had field trip to the Zasavica Special Nature Reserve.

This was opportunity for them to learn more about the invasive species that exist in Zasavica, their adverse impact on natural ecosystems. Students also learned about the measures taken by the manager to eradicate invasive species. In addition, students were introduced to the significance of the Sava River, its natural values and the negative impacts it was exposed to.
