Imagine strolling in forests of the Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube. You may see some trees that do not look well or observe some insects that you may not know anything about. You are interested to know more and learn how those pests and diseases affect the lovely trees you see. Or you are an expert and looking for tree pests and diseases is part of your everyday work. We are happy to announce that DanubeForestHealth information system is now on your disposal. It is one of the results of the REFOCuS project which aims at resilience building of riparian forests in the Biosphere Reserve. You may also wish to report the pests and diseases you see so that experts can check and record their occurrence. It is possible with DanubeForestHealth. The information system exists in two forms – web and mobile. Web application is publicly available here, while mobile application is available at Google Play here. DanubeForestHealth information comes in several languages (English, German, Slovenian, Hungarian, Croatian and Serbian), but so far only information in English and Slovenian are completed while still some translations are ongoing for German, Hungarian, Croatian and Serbian.
