Danube S3 Cluster - The Danube S3 Cluster project, presented at the EUSDR National Forum 2019

On October 28, 2019, the Communication Manager of the Danube S3 Cluster project, presented the project, within the EUSDR National Forum 2019, the closing event of the rotating Presidency of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region and handing it over to Croatia, the next Member State that will hold it. The event took place at the Parliament Palace in Bucharest, being organized in partnership by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MRDPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The EUSDR National Forum 2019 represents the framework of debates and decisions, with a strategic orientation role, having as main objective to establish the priorities and lines of action of Romania in the process of implementation of EUSDR at national, macro-regional and European level.

In this regard, within the Forum were held four main sessions with topics:

  • Romania's Presidency at EUSDR: priorities, actions and status at the end of the mandate
  • The role of public administration in the implementation of EUSDR
  • The role of civil society in the implementation of EUSDR
  • The correlation of the European objectives with the national ones and the financial perspectives 2021-2027

The project "Danube S3 Cluster" was presented during the parallel session of debates on the topic: The role of public administration in the implementation of EUSDR. Within it were discussed aspects regarding the projects financed by EUSDR implemented by the local, regional public administration as well as by representatives of the rural environment.

The end of the event was marked by the ceremony to take over the rotating presidency of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region by Croatia, and the Secretary of State within the MRDPA, Virgil-Alin Chirilă, and his counterpart within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Melania-Gabriela Ciot, have offered to Velimir Žunac, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Regional Development and European Funds of Croatia, the symbol of the mandate that the Croatian state will effectively exercise between November 1, 2019 - October 31, 2020.
