DANOVA - DANOVA begins its practical approach [2020/11/19]

07-01-2021

Within DANOVA project, the activities have started towards the creation of the “Catalogue of existing solutions and best practices in transportation and mobility” for blind and partially sighted passengers. A joint methodological approach was developed and DANOVA partners are already collecting inputs to be categorized. The first edition of the Catalogue is planned for release at the beginning of next year.

Furthermore, the methodology for the assessment of transport infrastructure accessibility (airports, ports, railway and bus stations) for blind and partially sighted is under development. The assessment of the accessibility will be performed in all transportation facilities where DANOVA testing will be implemented. It will enable insights into the current state of transport infrastructure accessibility levels and enable comprehensive planning of interventions for access improvement.

These activities are a part of DANOVA technical work package WPT1 “Assessment of the accessibility to blind and partially sighted passengers and Capitalisation Strategy”. The project partner responsible for coordinating it is the University of Maribor (PP5-UM).
