22 March is World Water Day! Water is essential to life on Earth, but we often overlook just how fragile our relationship with water can be. More than 2 billion people live in countries experiencing high water stress and 700 million people worldwide could be displaced by intense water scarcity by 2030.

Our Danube Floodplain project aims to give value for the ecosystem services of the rivers and their floodplains, develop new management strategies for a river and floodplain treatment and usage which serves better not only our human needs but also a healthy ecosystem.
