01-04-2021

Six more months of International URBforDAN cooperation

We are gladly announcing that URBforDAN project activities will be prolonged and extended with new activities for another six months. This prolongation and extension of activities within new work package 6 (WP6), was approved by the Monitoring Committee of the Danube Transnational Programme. The value of the project for the whole partnership is going to increase by almost 270,000 EUR of European Union ERDF and ENI funds. Namely, seven project partners (the cities of Ljubljana, Zagreb, Cluj-Napoca, Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as Slovenian Forest Service, Hrvatske Šume d.o.o. and Cluj-Napoca Metropolitan Organization) are included in the extension of URBforDAN project activities.

Best idea Winner projects will be implemented

The Implementation of the URBforDAN Extended project work package will aim at ensuring uptake of already delivered outputs of the URBforDAN project and delivering further impact. Among activities, we will be implementing some of the “Best project idea” competition winner solutions in participating cities. We will also prepare Operational parts of the IMMPs for additional focus areas in Ljubljana, Cluj-Napoca, Zagreb and Ivano-Frankivsk where we will again strive to involve interested public, forest users and forest owners. Three additional focus areas will be equipped with urban equipment for multi-purpose use. Here, project partners will rely on solutions and design concepts of urban equipment already successfully implemented in URBforDAN project.

Final conference will be held in Ljubljana in September

We will additionally work on dissemination and capitalization activities of project’s results and outputs. One of more important auditoria where we plan to be actively involved, will be EFUF (European Forum on Urban Forestry) conference in late spring 2021. We will complete our project with final URBforDAN conference planned in Ljubljana in September 2021, where the whole partnership will be able to present our results and achievements through presentations and final photo exhibition. The URBforDAN project is part of the Danube Transnational Programme and is co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI).
