Danube S3 Cluster - Local Action Plan on Business models that work in circular economy in Croatia

EKO-SUSTAV Ltd. (Croatia) in close cooperation with the IFKA (Hungary), Steinbeis 2i (Germany) and University Novi Sad, (Serbia) is implementing one of the Local Action Plans of Danube S3 Cluster project. Focus of this LAP is on Business models that work in circular economy in Croatia and the objective is Connecting Agro-food cluster member companies and to develop projects proposals to better use energy and circular economy solutions.

 Four project ideas are implemented within this LAP:

Adoption of circular economy solutions by local clusters in Vukovar-Srijem County in Croatia – with the aim of promoting energy efficiency in Agro-food sector by using circular economy solutions.


Platform of joint representation for circular economy solutions for local Agro-Food clusters in Vukovar, Croatia – the aim is to foster cooperation of small producing companies in the Agro-food sector through the establishment of a joint platform.

Increasing energy efficiency in farming production facilities by using new technologies (photovoltaics, heat pumps systems) in Vukovar-Srijem County in Croatia – with the aim to promote energy efficiency in Agro-food sector by using circular economy solutions.

Biomass/food residues usage for energy efficiency for small producers – Increasing the usage of biomass and food residues as energy sources for small farms

Organised were meetings with exchange of ideas to cooperate on development of new ideas. Cooperation between involved stakeholders, which may lead to projects implementation in agro-food and agricultural sector. The results of project ideas are going to be shared as good examples to stakeholders, clusters and companies, through Danube S3 Cluster project or by company EKO-SUSTAV Ltd.
