EcoInn Danube - FIRST STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING AT COMENIUS UNIVERSITY´S SCIENCE PARK IN BRATISLAVA

Comenius University´s Science Park (CUSP) organized its first Stakeholders' Meeting within the EcoInn Danube project on 1th of June 2017 in Bratislava, Slovakia. 

More than 18 representatives of SMEs’, companies and non-profit organizations in the field of eco innovation have attended CUSP’s First Stakeholders’ Meeting. Attendees discussed the presented EcoInn Danube activities and the current situation in Slovakia in the field of environmental protection.

In addition to discussion, representatives of CUSP tried to get as much information from the guests as they could, by asking them to write down their eco innovative ideas and recommendations. The most frequent ideas and advices regarding to eco innovative improvment were continuous monitoring of drinking water sources; replacement of chemical products in agriculture for natural products; avoiding water and soil contamination; effective solution for waste recycling; sustainable development; spreading more information about environmental protection by media; involving students and children in waste sorting; more frequent waste collection from households.

The participants also talked about obstacles in eco innovation process (complicated legislation; people notions that environmental protection does not concern them). The most frequent answer to the question about SME´s  motivation in increasing an eco-friendly production, was the tax concessions.
