DANOVA - SECOND STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP HELD IN DUBROVNIK

18-03-2022

On March 16, 2022, LP-ZLD, PP9-LUD and PP7-HSS organized the 2nd stakeholder event in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The meeting initiated with the LP representatives presenting the project and its results achieved so far, and the assessment of the accessibility of the key transport points involved in the project. LP-ZLD and PP9-LUD presented the pilot actions that are ongoing or will be implemented in their own and other partners’ premises. PP7-HSS representative gave a brief overview of the results of the DANOVA International Call for Innovative Ideas.

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to PP7-HSS leading a panel discussion where she tried to challenge prejudices and stereotypes stakeholders might have towards blind and partially sighted, and offered them a perspective of a visually impaired person and the problems she faces because of the lack of accessibility in the transport and mobility area. Stakeholders participated actively in the discussion and expressed their doubts and opinions on the topic. In that sense, one of the stakeholders pointed out the problem the city administration faces with the claims of the citizens saying that acoustic traffic lights make too much noise and they even try to block the sound. The vivid debate that arose among 30 attendees and their shown interest represent a solid ground for the trainings of both operational and managerial staff that follow in upcoming months.
