The fourth partnership meeting of the project "Forests in Women's Hands" was held in Opatija, Croatia. ????

The partnership meeting was organized by the Croatian Union of Private Forest Owners' Association and the Croatian Chamber of Forestry and Wood Technology Engineers on March 9th and 10th 2022, in the conference premises of the Amadria park grand hotel "4 opatijska cvijeta" in Opatija. Partners from 9 countries in the Danube region participated live, while others participated online. ???? ????

All current and future project activities were discussed at the meeting, with a special emphasis on the National Action Plans of the partner countries' from the "T2" work package, focusing on women in forestry and strengthening their position during the project and in the long run. The objective of National Action Plans is to create a tailored approach to solving critical problems in different partner countries. ????

As part of the meeting, a study visit was held, which included a tour of parks in Opatija, a visit to the family company "Karlić truffles" with the women on the top management position, where we visited a truffle plantation, and finally - a visit to the picturesque town of Motovun in central Istria. ????????????‍♀️

With a great joy, the partnership expects and welcomes future project activities and step towards gender equality in forestry sector in Danube Region. Stay tuned!
