CINEMA - Workshops for the Creative Industries in Serbia

The CINEMA project partners from Sombor in Serbia are working on building up a support system for the local creative industries (CI). The challenge is to define and set up a concept for “cultural & creative quarters” which are client oriented and support the needs of the CI: access to know-how, skills and production support, growing innovative business and attraction of international talents. Some of the piloting activities have been organized online for the participants from the Serbian CI sector. Some of them are unemployed, some are owners of small businesses or employees in various sector of CI, and all of them applied for participating the trainings organized in the frame of “CUR Toolset”. The key goal of the trainings was to improve and enhance the know-how and skills of the creatives. The set of trainings consists of five tailor made trainings, the first three trainings dealt with Entrepreneurship and source of funding, financial management and Business plan development. The participants learned to develop a business plan for a textile designer, about different tools to tackle finances, to come up with useful information for potential investors and to raise awareness on the needs and challenges of the creative industries in Serbia.
