It is with great pleasure that we announce that the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor and Austrian Federal President Dr. Alexander Van der Bellen have accepted the honorary patronage for the 5-Country Biosphere Reserve Conference Mura-Drava-Danube to be held from September 5-8, 2022. This conference marks the first anniversary of UNESCO's designation of the Mura-Drava-Danube river system as the world’s first ‘5-country biosphere reserve’ in September 2021 that represents an international model for transboundary cooperation in conservation and sustainable regional development. The designation of the 5-country biosphere reserve has been a historic milestone that heralds a new era where nature and people coexist in this beautiful part of Europe.
