For two days, September 5-6, 2022, the Presentation Centre 'Adrion - the heart of the mountain' in the Nature Park Biokovo administrative building was the venue of a partner meeting within the EU project 'Danube Cycle Plans', organized by the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

The two-day meeting was attended by fifteen experts in the development of bicycle transport and cyclotourism; they came from Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia and Romania to share their experience in the development of bicycle transport with the aim to achieve coordinated implementation, development and promotion of cycling in participating countries. The Castle of Makarska was selected by a representative of the Project Member States as a place for presentations, thematic discussions and field trips primarily because one of the most attractive cycle routes 'EuroVelo 8' passes through the Makarska coast and then goes to the Biokovo Mountains.
