12-10-2022

On September 16, 2022, the experts from the Croatian Blind Union held in Budapest, Hungary, the international training for the managerial staff of the DANOVA partner transportation facilities under the title “People with Visual Impairments in Passenger Traffic”.

More specifically, during the first module, the managers got an invaluable opportunity to learn about specificities of the visually impaired, enter “their shoes” through simulation glasses, and become more aware of the prejudices and stereotypes we all have.

In the second module, they could hear first-hand experiences related to obstacles to mobility and inclusion that the blind and partially sighted are faced with, and familiarize themselves with the typhlotechnical aids visually impaired use.

Finally, in the third module, they gained insight into a legal framework at both the European and global level, which guarantees the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities to personal mobility and accessibility of information and access to build environment.

In the section Gallery on the official DANOVA webpage, you can watch fun and educational videos showing the correct approach and communication with blind and partially sighted persons.
