DanuBioValNet Cross-clustering partnership for boosting eco-innovation by developing a joint bio-based value-added network for the Danube Region
Eco-construction value chain
Value Chain Mapping Report - Eco-Construction
The report’s objective is to provide an overview of the interviews conducted with representatives of the eco-construction industry in the DanuBioValNet region. The report should serve to highlight the tendencies and patterns that emerge from the aggregate information collected through the interviews.
Cluster Mapping Report - Eco-Construction
The Eco-construction sector in the Danube Region employs more than 1.2 million workers. The findings of this working paper illustrate that this region belongs, besides the Baltic and the South-western European region (South-west France, Portugal and Spain), to the front-runners in the Eco-construction sector. Especially regions in Romania and Serbia, but also in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria, show strong economic data in different categories. More than 1250 high growth enterprises (Gazelles) are located in the Danube Region. There are many cluster initiatives in the field of Eco-Construction, many of them well established and have a good critical mass.
Roadmap Report - Eco-construction
Roadmap is a specialised type of strategic plan that outlines activities that an organisation can undertake over specified timeframes to achieve stated goals and outcomes. This document besides other information summarizes the Eco-construction Roadmapping workshop (held in Linz, Austria, on 20 April, 2018). The workshop results consider missing links and existing gaps in the related VC, trends and upcoming developments with regard to technology and application, markets, socio-economic factors and policy or business environment, and VC specifics.
Eco-Construstion Pilot Action in Austria
The workshop “Eco-Construction – building with wood, recycling and reuse” was part of the work package “Pilot action”. Its aim is to match related cluster actors in order to create eco-innovations along the selected value chains and to demonstrate three completed VCs that can be put in practice after the end of the project. The workshop was organized by Cleantech Cluster from Business Upper Austria and took place on 13 - 14 March 2019 in Linz, Austria, at the premises of Business Upper Austria, Tech center Linz. The objective of this Pilot Action was to facilitate cross-border and cross-regional cooperation of clusters and SMEs for creation of a bio-based value chain. Major topics were the presentation of best practice examples from Austria for Eco-Construction, followed by a workshop on how to support and promote the use of wood and bio-based materials in construction projects within the Danube countries.
Eco-Construction Pilot Action in Croatia
Workshop „Challenges and Opportunities of Eco-construction in Southeast Europe” was a part of the work package “Pilot action”. Its aim is to match related cluster actors in order to create eco-innovations along the selected value chains and to demonstrate three completed VCs that can be put in practice after the end of the project. The workshop was organized by Croatian Wood Cluster on 24 April 2019 in Croatia. The workshop aims to initiate creation of the platform, which will support the development of the bio-based industry and eco-construction in Croatia and other countries of the Danube Region and to create proposals for the eco-innovations and project ideas among relevant stakeholders by involving most innovative SMEs.
