ResInfra@DR - Editor's choice: Vienna will coordinate EU strategy for the Danube Region

01-08-2018

The coordination of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region will in future be carried out from Vienna. The Vienna Coordination Office - also known as the "Danube Strategy Point" - will develop a new action plan, among other things. This will be used for the coordination of the new EU funding programs.

Austria and Romania have proposed to the European Council to develop their own development strategy for the Danube region. This strategy is intended to promote the economic and social development of this Region. Vienna has been eventually chosen as the headquarters of the Danube Strategy Point, thanks also to Vienna's intensive commitment to the EU Danube Strategy over the past years. Rudolf Schicker will be designated as head.
