The Czech project partner Ametyst NGO cooperates with Junak – Czech Scouting to promote the European Green Belt and improve ecological connectivity. Ametyst helped to choose some areas suitable for scout program “Patronages”. The aim of the program is to connect scout units with experts and with the administrators of valuable areas and involve young people in effective nature conservation activities. In particular, regular care for valuable meadows in Šumava would lead to improvement of migration of species related to grasslands. There are some areas endangered by invasive garden lupin (Lupinus polyphyllus), lack of mowing or overgrowth with shrubs and trees. The program “Patronages” will be a perfect way to care about the landscape of the Czech part of the European Green Belt.
