After long-standing covid related restrictions, we finally had an opportunity to meet live again with our partners from the Amazing Amazon of Europe project. Our 4th Steering Committee meeting took place from 15th to 17th June in Apatin, Serbia.

Review project progress and new plans
Main aims of the meeting were to review project progress in the second period per each workpackage and to clarify any ambiguities or questions regarding the project.

Coordinated by each workpackage leader we went through the progress and all topics.
Iskriva: management and spending overview for for 2nd reporting period
Municipality of Velika Polana: review of the past and planned communication activities
Arctur: summary of the concluded and presentation of the RGD TIM analysis
Iskriva and Trail Angels: developing the AoE Destination - joint strategy and flagship tourism products
Arctur: digital innovation of AoE heritage
Iskriva: agreements, next steps for the next 6 months and conclusions of the meeting

Cycling tour along stage 14 Amazon of Europe Bike Trail
During our study visit in Apatin we had a wonderful cycling tour which we started at the entrance of the Nature Reserve »Gornje Podunavlje« - at the Erdut fortress. Alongside the bike route there is bike infrastructure where cyclists can rest and enjoy breath-taking views and untouched nature with the beautiful river Danube on your side. The path led us to a Hunting Lodge »Mesarske Livade« where they also offer accommodation. The route is suitable also for families and it is a great experience for everyone who likes to cycle. We ended the day with a boat ride on the Danube and culinary experience by the river with a tasting of traditional and delicious fish soup. 

It was a very useful and successful meeting for progress of our project.
