THE LOST SECESSION

THE LOST SECESSION is a documentary realized within the ART NOUVEAU2 project - Strengthening the cultural identity of the Danube region by building on the common heritage of ART NOUVEAU - in which the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments participate as a project partner and the Ministry of Culture and Information as an associate partner. 

The 35-minute long film follows the fate of seven Art Nouveau buildings that have disappeared or are in the final stages of disappearing in the recent past, even though they all enjoyed protection under the Cultural Property Law. The thread that connects them all is the personality of the architecture professor Viktorija Aladžić - who dedicated her scientific, university, and pedagogical career - to the preservation of the Art Nouveau heritage in the Serbian province of Vojvodina.

THE LOST SECESSION will be premiered at the Republic Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments in Belgrade on June 9, 2022, at 7:30 PM and at the Aleksandar Lifka Art Cinema in Subotica on June 10, 2022, at 8:00 PM - as part of activities within the World Art Nouveau Day.

The full lenght movie can be seen on the national television channel RTS3 on June 10, 2022. 22.00 CET.
