DANUrB+ - CONTRIBUTES TO THE DIGITAL TRANSITION AND TRANSFORMATION OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

30-09-2022

DANUrB+ had an engaging and productive end of September! Mrs. Desislava Mincheva-Yordanova and Mr. Georgi Jordanov, representatives of the project partner National Tourism Cluster “Bulgarian Guide” participated at the European Cluster Conference on September 26th 2022 and presented the values of the initiative at an international level.

The 8th edition of the European Cluster Conference was held in Prague, Czech Republic, staging a unique opportunity to bring together cluster policy makers, cluster managers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. The event was for cluster organizations and/or for technical members. It was centered on cluster policies and initiatives taking into consideration the concrete implementation of the green and digital transitions in Europe’s value chains as well as strengthening their resilience. Likewise, the DANUrB+ is working to foster resilient use of cultural heritage and resources of the peripheral and border regions along the Danube, so the initiatives of the project connected to the creation of Cultural Network (Danube Cultural Promenade) and International Quality Label were presented. During the Matchmaking sessions and the networking breaks the representatives of National Tourism Custer “Bulgarian Guide” presented DANUrB+ achievements in front of potential stakeholders and cluster organizations from various countries, including Ukraine.  The created contacts will further contribute to and strengthen the upcoming Danube Urban Brand initiatives and their continuation.

The EUROPEANA Conference "Making Digital Culture Count" on the other hand took place in a hybrid format on September 28-30th – digitally and on-site, at the KB, National Library of the Netherlands in The Hague. The event aimed to explore how all interested can collaboratively build a common data space for cultural heritage and raise voices from across the sector to empower digital transformation and explore the role that digital cultural heritage plays and will play in today‘s and tomorrow’s world. The parallel sessions were based on 3 main topics: „Perspectives and Provocations on the Data Space for Cultural Heritage“, "Stories, Culture and Society", and "Technology Matters". During these sessions, the interview with DANUrB+ Project Leader, Bálint Kádár, PhD Arch, from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Urban Planning and Design, was streamed on the video walls in front of all visitors and participants. Thus, everyone could understand what DANUrB+ stands for, what is the main goal, what is the connective power through culture and cultural heritage, and so on.
